- We collect what you type into our forms or send us directly: your name, your contact info, and what you tell us about your project. If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email address.
- We use Google Analytics to see how visitors use the site. It relies on cookies, and you can block them. We don't use advertising pixels.
- We never sell or rent your information, and we don't share it for advertising.
- Want to see, fix, or delete what we have? Email info@webwize.com or call 713-416-7111.
Who we are
WebWize ("WebWize," "we," "us") is a web design, hosting, SEO, and business email company located at 15150 Boudreaux Road, Tomball, Texas 77377. This policy covers www.webwize.com and the information we collect through it, by email, and by phone.
Information you give us
When you fill out a form on this site, we collect what you enter:
- Contact form and the footer Quick Contact form: first and last name, email address, phone number, and your message.
- Free Website Consultation form: name, phone number, email address, the service you're interested in, your current website address, an optional budget range, and your message.
- Newsletter signup: your email address, plus anything else the signup form asks for, such as your name.
We also keep the details you share when you email or call us. If you become a client, we keep the information we need to deliver your services and invoice you.
Information collected automatically
Server logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting and content delivery providers automatically record basic technical information when your browser requests a page: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the page that referred you, and the date and time. We use these logs to keep the site running, secure, and fast: spotting attacks, fixing errors, and blocking spam. We don't use them to build profiles of visitors.
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics, a service from Google, to understand how visitors find and use our site: which pages are viewed, how long visits last, what kind of device and browser are used, roughly where visitors are (city or region, not a street address), and which website or search brought them here. Google Analytics uses cookies to recognize a returning browser. We look at this information in summary form. We don't use it to identify you, and we don't send Google your name, email address, or phone number. We use it to measure our site, not to advertise: we don't use Google Analytics' advertising features, and if that ever changes, we'll update this policy first. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Google Search Console. We also use Google Search Console, which gives us reports on how our site performs in Google Search, such as which searches show our pages and how often people click through. Those reports come from Google's own search data, in summary form. Search Console doesn't add cookies or tracking code to our site.
Newsletter emails. If you receive our newsletter, our email service tells us whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, using standard tracking images and links. We use that to learn which topics readers find useful.
Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Our site uses Google Analytics cookies (their names start with "_ga") to measure visits, as described above. We don't use advertising cookies, Facebook or Meta pixels, or advertising networks, and if we ever add advertising tools, we'll update this policy before we do. If our hosting or security systems ever need a strictly necessary cookie (for example, to block abusive traffic), it's used only for that purpose.
Your choices: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and our site will still work. You can also stop Google Analytics on every website that uses it with Google's free opt-out browser add-on.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: our site doesn't currently change how it works when your browser sends a Do Not Track signal. We don't sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising, so a Global Privacy Control signal has nothing to opt you out of under state privacy laws. To stop analytics, use your browser's cookie settings or the opt-out add-on above.
How we use your information
- To answer your questions and prepare quotes, proposals, and consultations
- To provide, support, and bill for the services you buy from us
- To send service notices, like hosting maintenance or renewal reminders, if you're a client
- To send our newsletter if you've signed up for it. Every issue has an unsubscribe link.
- To understand how visitors find and use our site, so we can make it better
- To keep our website and systems secure and filter out spam
- To meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations
How we share it
We don't sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising. We share it only:
- With service providers that help us run the business, such as website hosting, content delivery, website analytics (Google Analytics), our newsletter service, spam filtering, email delivery, and accounting and billing. They may use it only to provide their service to us.
- When the law requires it, such as a valid subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of WebWize, our clients, or others.
- If WebWize is ever merged or sold, in which case the new owner would be bound by this policy for information collected under it.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry information as long as we need it to respond and follow up. Client records are kept for as long as you're a client, and afterward for as long as tax, accounting, and legal requirements call for. Newsletter subscribers stay on our list until they unsubscribe; after that, we keep only what we need to make sure we don't email them again. Detailed Google Analytics data is deleted automatically after no more than 14 months. When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
How we protect it
This site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections, form submissions are processed on servers we manage, and access to customer information is limited to the people who need it to do their jobs. No method of sending or storing data is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we have about you and give you a copy
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete your information, unless we're required to keep it for legal or billing reasons
- Stop sending you our newsletter or other marketing emails (every issue also has an unsubscribe link)
Email info@webwize.com or call 713-416-7111. We'll confirm it's really you, then respond within 45 days. If we turn down a request, we'll tell you why, and you can ask us to reconsider by replying to that message. We won't treat you any differently for using these rights.
Texas, California, and other state residents: these rights apply to you no matter where you live. We don't sell personal data (including sensitive data), use it for targeted advertising, or use it for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
Websites we build or host for clients
WebWize designs, hosts, and maintains websites and email for our clients. Information collected by those websites belongs to and is controlled by each client, and their own privacy policies apply. We handle that information only on our clients' behalf and as they instruct. If you have a question about a client's website, contact that business directly, and we'll help them respond.
Links to other sites
Our site links to other websites, such as client login portals and social media. We aren't responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies.
Children's privacy
This website is meant for businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll make it obvious on this page.
